Eczema

Eczema is a broad term describing inflamed, itchy skin. It includes several subtypes, such as contact dermatitis, irritant dermatitis and discoid eczema. Symptoms may include redness, scaling, cracking and discomfort. Identifying underlying triggers — such as irritants, allergens or environmental factors — is an important part of management. Treatment typically involves moisturisers, topical anti-inflammatory medication and strategies to protect the skin barrier.

What can I do prior to my appointment?

• Consider potential triggers, including soaps, fragrances, new products or stress.

• Bring a list of topical treatments currently in use.

• Continue regular moisturiser prior to the appointment.

Understanding your current skincare routine is helpful.
